Position Summary:
The Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) Los Angeles/Anaheim campuses, invites applications for a full-time Director of Clinical Training position for the start of the Summer semester, beginning May 1, 2021.


The Director of Clinical Training for the California Campuses located in Los Angeles and Anaheim oversees the entire practicum and internship experience for the students in the Psy.D. and M.A. programs in the Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology. This position collaborates with the other Directors of Clinical Training in other departments and at other campus locations. The Director of Clinical Training acts as a liaison between the academic program administration and faculty, the training sites, and the students. This position reports to the Department Chair and the Dean of Academic Affairs.


Principle Duties:

  • Oversee the education of students who are new to the practicum/internship search processes and practices.
  • Manage the flow of information regarding students’ progress, as well as problems, to academic department chairs, faculty, and/or practicum/internship sites.
  • Consult with students who are encountering issues related to their internship/practicum experience.
  • Help review of internship/practicum evaluations and related paperwork.
  • Help manage the proper storage and/or dissemination of training data.
  • Monitor student learning outcomes and progress.
  • Community outreach to develop and maintain future practicum and externship cites for students.
  • Provide clinical and research supervision and academic advisement to Clinical Forensic Psychology students
  • Prepare students to pass the licensing exam and to work as independent professionals.
  • Consult on the development of new initiatives and projects.
  • Consult on the development and maintenance of coursework pertinent to training.
  • Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.
  • Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of The Chicago School.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements.
  • Teach courses in both the Psy.D. and M.A. programs.
  • Opportunities to Chair dissertations available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Chair.
  • Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.
  • Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of The Chicago School.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements.
  • Attend Faculty Council meetings.
  • Attend OPT meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate records (e.g., PATTR) for programs from which students are being placed.
  • Track placement of students and other outcome data.
  • Other duties as assigned by Department Chair.

  • Knowledge of local and national training and licensing requirements.
  • Understanding and ability to navigate multiple levels of program hierarchies.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office.

Position Qualifications:

  • 2 -3 years of professional training experience.
  • Licensed as a clinical psychologist.
  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or relevant area of study.
  • Experience in working with clinical and forensic populations.
  • Ability to travel between campus and site locations.
  • Knowledge of California BBS and LPCC requirements a plus, but not required.
